What?

These images were made with math, and we'd love to show you how! We're hosting a generative art workshop, where we'll be showing you how to make your own math pictures using strange attractors and Processing. If you're curious about learning about how, you can check out this tutorial on our blog! But we'll also be showing you how to make these images from scratch, so don't sweat it if you come in without reading the tutorial and with no programming experience.

We'll also be hosting online games during and after the workshop! We've got Jackbox, Among Us, and Skribbl.io lined up:)

When?

January 27, 2022 at 6:00PM EST.

Where?

Our Discord server, which you can join using this link. We highly recommend downloading Discord before the event, which you can do using this link. You can technically access it from your browser but it's a lot slower and all-around bummier.

Why?

We're hoping that our chapter can offer an inclusive and social space for conversations about making mathematics more accessible. For this event, we mostly just want people to have fun, be friendly, and maybe learn some cool new things. To read more about our goals as a club, please check out our official blog.

Can't make this event, but still interested in getting involved? Please fill out this form to keep updated on future AWM Western events and happenings.
